My black horse is a beautiful, shiny black...two months out of the year. The sun bleaches him to a dull dark brown, then to a dark buckskin. I finally broke down and tried the Black as Knight supplement. It's not cheap, and the ads are lame, with unconvincing before & after photos. (Seriously, the ads just scream Snake Oil. The before and after shots are of different sides of the same horse.) I had my doubts. No longer! |

I gave him two weeks at 3-4 scoops a day, then two weeks at 5-6 scoops a day. He completely shed out his bleached coat. The results are dramatic. However, he also seemed to get a belly! (See at left.) Black as Knight does have some sugar content. Was I giving him the equivalent of candy bars every day? Perhaps a lower dose would be better? Photo at right is a week with no supplement, seems to quickly be losing the belly. |
