Jesse

10-11 years old, thoroughbred (registered). Hunter, jumper, won some ribbons. Smooth, mellow canter, very well trained but less bombproof. Push-button ride, but occasional lead change issues.

Old tendon injury means twice a year fluid must be drained out of one hock; the ligament tightens around the tendon. Costs an awful lot for that kind of damage.

SOLD December 2006

Priced at $8,500

UPDATE: If this isn't a cautionary tale, I don't know what is. Owners bought him originally for something like $20,000. Then he gets a tendon injury and is for sale for $8,500. Now, a year later, he's on the market again, drastically reduced to probably half that, because he now needs daily eye drops.

Oz

Adorable chestnut quarterhorse. Have yet to canter, for some reason his owner hasn't let me canter him in the TWO times I've ridden him. That can't be good. Sweet disposition, though. Formerly owned by cowboy.

Note to sellers: don't try to get the potential buyer to take a $60 lesson from you (and then not let her canter the horse).

BOUGHT by someone at my stable. December 2006
