Fitzgerald

SOLD TO SUSAN, A LOVELY LADY AT MY STABLE. I have gotten to ride him in my lessons...he's a great confidence builder. He trips over his own feet every time I ride him. I'm beginning to think it's just me.

8 years old, Appendix (TB/QH cross). Sweet guy, "heart of gold." Hunter, jumper, dressage, trails. "Bombproof." Smooth but big canter.

Update: Ewe neck disturbed me, and I'm not just being shallow, according to an amazing book, The Horse Conformation Handbook. It is responsible for all the other problems that Fitz has to overcome: stumbling, inability to collect at the canter, jerky transitions, holding his head high, and raising his head higher to avoid the bit. "The ewe-necked horse has trouble flexing at the poll and giving to the bit. Thus, it is more difficult for a rider to collect him and shift weight more to his hindquarters. This type of horse travels heavy in front, especially when carrying a rider, making him less agile, clumsier, and more prone to stumbling...It is difficult for the ewe-necked horse to lower his head and neck, raise his back, and lower his hindquarters for good collection and impulsion. The horse usually carries his head high especially under saddle, making communication through the bit a challenge."

Priced at $6,500
